OOTD: Not so Simple

We've all know about the ever-so-popular white shirt and jeans outfit combo. However, there are so many possible variations to that combination. Recently, I've been playing around with ways to dress up the classic pairing. This outfit is the result. I incorporated a peplum top with contrast trimming to make the outfit classic, yet modern. The gold bracelets add just the right amount of "color", and the sunglasses with the baroque detailing add interest. My favorite part of the outfit is the shoes: they are just soooo adorable!

Galaxy Print: An Oldie but a Goodie

Galaxy print has been around for quite some time now, but I still can't get enough of it. I know I'm probably the last blogger left on earth to rave about galaxy print. Personally, I don't think I myself could pull the trend off, but I absolutely love it on other people. There's just something about it....it's so beautiful, so unique, so celestial. The awesome thing about it is that it can be customized to personal preference: you can have blue galaxy print, pink galaxy print, green galaxy print, light galaxy print, dark galaxy print, etc... I really really want to try it out because it would be a step out of my fashion comfort zone.

Hideously Beautiful

So...there has been a jacket trend that I have been embarrassed to admit that I like. Objectively speaking, the jacket is absolutely hideous. It is a mix of olive green and black-- colors that definitely do not belong together, has leather sleeves, a ridiculous number of pockets. This "leather sleeved utility jacket", as it is called on many retail websites, has been popular for quite a few months. I've been tempted to try the trend myself, but the 80 dollar price tag at Macy's has put me off quite a bit.
I don't know what it is about this jacket....but something about it just sucks me in. Maybe it's so hideous that I think it's cute. Who knows. What do you guys think?

OOTD: New York, New York

2012 has come and gone, and 2013 seems to be going by super fast. This outfit was created to celebrate the finale of Gossip Girl. (Sorry...I know that it ended a couple weeks ago but I just haven't had time to post it because of college applications and debate tournaments.) I've pretty much grown up watching Gossip Girl (my guilty pleasure...), and it's both sad and exciting to know that it's finally over. Blair has been one of my fashion role models for quite some time now, and I will never forget the moments I spend with my friends giggling over the show. XOXO, Gossip Girl

Nail art for the first time-- Happy 4th of July!!!

Ok, ok, I know. My nails probably look really bad. But hey! I can't be perfect unless I start trying. This is the first time I've actually ever done anything fancy to my nails, so I'm actually pretty excited with the result. I guess you can say that my nails are sort of american flag inspired. The three striped nails represent the stripes on the flag, and the polka dotted nail represents the fifty stars. Hehe...
